These words were allegedly uttered by Czechoslovak president T.G. Masaryk. Merciere agency adopted the substance of this quote as our motto. It is a constant reminder of why we joined this industry. We do not perceive translating as a mere job, it is a mission for us. Our people are not only true professionals in their specializations, but they are also ordinary people who want to share their gift.

Since the times of Masaryk, our world has changed beyond recognition. People from all over the world are travelling to amuse themselves, to go sightseeing, to gain knowledge or to get a job. Countries and their cultures have become more and more interwoven. The need to understand foreign languages correctly is gaining momentum. In the professional field, the smallest discrepancy may imply insufficient professionalism or even disrespect to the foreign partner.

We are always open to IT innovations, which can take the translation industry to the next level. Standard dictionaries are not enough for the translation of highly professional texts. For this purpose, we use invaluable CAT tools. A CAT tool is a specialized piece of linguistic software which allows us to achieve quick turnarounds and to manage translations in an efficient and consistent manner with regard to terminology and spelling. All these aspects contribute to the overall quality of the translation.
